Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway TD has pressed the Taoiseach in the Dáil over delays to the excavation of a mass grave at the Tuam Mother and Baby Home site.
Deputy Catherine Connolly argued it's been 4 years since an expert team discovered there are substantial human remains buried there, yet nothing has happened since.
She was also sharply critical of delays in introducing a redress scheme for survivors of the homes nationwide.
She told Michael Martin that former former residents are becoming more anxious, worried and vulnerable with each passing day.
In response, the Taoiseach gave an assurance that a redress scheme has been developed and is being brought to Cabinet in a matter of weeks.
He also indicated that work is ongoing to advance the very complex legislation needed to undertake excavations in Tuam.
