Galway West TD and Junior Minister Hildegarde Naughten has launched a new campaign to combat the sharing of intimate images without consent.
Victims can now report illegally shared images and videos to online resource 'Hotline.ie' which will help in getting the material removed.
Those who share such images are also being reminded that there are now laws in place to stop the practice, with penalties of up to seven years.
One in ten adults between the ages of 18 and 37 claim to have had an intimate image of them shared online without consent.
Junior Justice Minister, Hildegarde Naughten, says sharing or threatening to share an intimate image is a form of abuse.
