Galway TD flags concerns over Government capital underspend in the areas of housing, health and transport last year.

A Galway member of the Oireachtas Budgetary Committee's raising serious concerns over a 830 million euro underspend of capital funding last year.

Sean Canney says 104 million of that total was earmarked for health infrastructure.

The Independent TD's calling on the Government to use the funds on projects that are shovel ready, such as the next phase of the Western Rail Corridor.

Deputy Canney says there were a number of unforeseen reasons why the money was not spent.
