Galway TD critical of poorly planned transition to green economy

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway TD is sharply criticising the Government's poorly planned transition to a green, renewable economy.

Contributing to a Dáil debate on energy security, Sean Canney argued there's been plenty of initiatives announced, but their implementation has been sorely lacking.

The Galway East TD cited delays in both the National Retrofitting Scheme and the rollout of the National Broadband plan.

He also mentioned a range of promising schemes that have amounted to nothing, such as microgeneration, as well as a total lack of public transport options in rural areas.
