Galway TD calls for stronger emphasis on digital literacy

A Galway TD is calling for a stronger emphasis on digital literacy in the Government's literacy and numeracy strategy.

The strategy - which aims to improve literacy and numeracy skills among children and young people - is set to be updated this year.

Galway West TD Hildegarde Naughton says the digital landscape is rapidly growing - and skills such as coding will become increasingly necessary in the future.
