Galway TD calls for greater transparency from Tusla over creches on 'critical' list

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway TD is calling for increased transparency from TUSLA regarding 37 creches on its critical list.

Earlier this year the creches were highlighted by the Child and Family agency as needing the "highest level of regulatory enforcement action."

However the names of these creches have not been made public.

Galway East TD Anne Rabbitte is calling on the Minister for Children Katherine Zappone to make details public about these facilities - and outline their current status.

She's also voicing concerns over a slight drop in inspections by TUSLA of childcare facilities in the first quarter of 2019.

Deputy Rabbite says transparency is needed to ease parents concerns.
