Galway Steiner School to become National Community School

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Galway Steiner National School in Knocknacarra is to become a Community National School.

The school is set to transfer patronage from Lifeways Ireland to the Galway Roscommon Education and Training Board.

However, the school will continue to deliver the national curriculum using Steiner methodologies.

Lifeways Ireland says it is not in a position to provide the wide range of supports needed to a growing number of schools using Steiner methods.

The voluntary organisation says it will work closely with the GRETB to advise and support the school in its continued development.
