Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway Sinn Fein is to hold a vigil this evening following the death of Martin McGuinness.
66-year-old Mr McGuinness, who had stepped down as the North's Deputy First Minister in January, passed away early this morning after a short illness.
His legacy will see him remembered as an IRA commander turned statesman.
The city vigil will take place at the Liam Mellow's statue off Eyre Square at 7.30 this evening.
