Galway has been shortlisted for five awards recognising dedication and innovation at Local Government level.
In the Sustaining the Arts category the ‘Commemoration of the Irish Women of 1923’ was shortlisted.
Conservation project ‘Buaile Bó Ballyloughane’ was nominated for the Sustainable Environment and Biodiversity award.
Meanwhile the ‘Your Council Podcast’ by Galway City Council was recognised in the Communications category.

Galway County Council is in the running for the Heritage and Built Environment for their Ecclesiastical Heritage Project.
While the County Galway Pre-Planning System could also claim the Local Authority Innovation award.
