Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway Senator Seán Kyne has told the Seanad that more supports are needed for local businesses who are struggling as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It comes as 11 Galway retailers have been allocated funding to help strengthen their online presence and attract new customers through the second round of the COVID-19 Online Retail Scheme.
The Fine Gael Senator says the allocations are positive news for these companies but argues many more are facing serious financial uncertainty.
He's called for a debate on town centres with the Ministers responsible for Business and Planning.
Senator Kyne told the Seanad steps must be taken to safeguard the future of local towns and businesses.
