Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway-Roscommon TD says beef is being marked up over 200 per cent after crossing the M50 to get to Dublin supermarkets.
Independent TD Denis Naughten says farmers are getting less than four euro a kilo at the factory gate.
But customers in the capital are spending up to 12 euro per kilo after it's been processed and packaged.
Deputy Naughten says customers are paying three times the price per kilo farmers get at the factory gate.
The Independent TD says the margins being made by beef processors can't be explained by their costs.
Farmers have being blockading meat processing plants nationwide all week in protest over prices.
