Galway Bay fm newsroom - Winds of over 130 kilometres an hour are hitting the southwest as Storm Eunice moves across the country.
Cork, Kerry, Clare and Waterford are experiencing the worst of the conditions while an orange snow warning is in effect for the northwest.
Galway remains under a status orange wind warning until 11am.
A Status Yellow snow and ice warning for the entire country has been extended until 10am tomorrow. .
Matthew Martin from Met Eireann says conditions will get worse throughout the morning.
Over 13,000 ESB customers are without electricty this morning.
The majorty of power outages have been reported in Co Kerry so far, where over 9,500 people have been effected.
In Galway, there are minor interruptions in the Carraroe area, with less than 100 homes without power.
Siobhan Wynne from the ESB says crews are working to restore services.
There'll be no Bus Eireann services running this morning in Cork, Kerry, Clare and Waterford due to the red wind alerts.
While there'll be no school services operated by the company in those counties or in Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal and Roscommon.
Bus Eireann spokesperson Eleanor Farrell says safety is paramount.
