Galway Bay fm newsroom - Organisations across Galway registered over 2,700 new .ie website domains last year.
According to the latest domain profile report, the number represents a 31.5% growth in new .ie domain registrations, when compared to 2019.
The report highlights that one of the most frequently used .ie domain keywords in Galway in 2021 was 'design'.
It also reveals the rate of registrations reflects the impact lockdown had on non-essential retail.
While over half of .ie websites have a security certificate, other security features are low among Galway businesses, according to the report.
Chief Executive of .IE David Curtain says Galway businesses are investing in websites because of their key role in profitability during the pandemic.
