Galway records second highest volume of new COVID-19 cases for two consecutive days

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway recorded the second highest number of new COVID-19 cases in the latest figures from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.

61 new cases were recorded in the city and county last evening, second behind Dublin with 315 cases.

Galway also reported the second highest volume of cases on Saturday evening when 139 new cases were notified.

816 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the city and county over the last fortnight with the incidence rate standing at 316.2.

This is above the national 14 day average which stands at 277.2.
