Galway records 40% fall in unemployment figures since 2016

Figures released by the CSO show unemployment figures in Galway are down by 40 percent since 2016.

October's live register figures have dropped by 10 percent every year for the last three years.

This drop includes 51 fewer people on the live register in Gort, 159 fewer in Loughrea and 83 in Tuam.

Nationally unemployment sits at 4.9 percent with over 2.3 million at work in Ireland today.
