Galway records 11% drop in new company registrations

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway recorded an 11 percent drop in new company registrations last year.

806 were recorded in the city and county in the 12 month period compared to 897 in 2019.

25 insolvencies were recorded in Galway in the period.

There's been a national drop of 4 percent in the number of start-up firms in 2020.

CRIF Vision-net says 21,924 new companies were registered last year, the lowest figure since 2016.

Of the 26 counties in the Republic, 24 saw a drop in new firm start-ups.
