Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway is ranked in 14th position in a league table of counties with the most recorded jailings for the years 2014 and 2015.
The data from the Irish Prison Service shows 254 people from Galway were sent to jail during the period, per 100 thousand of population.
According to the Irish Daily Mail, Limerick recorded the most jailings at 561.
Longford follows in second position where 528 people received a jail sentence.
