Galway Bay fm newsroom - Rail services have been restored in Galway as the Bus Éireann strike enters it's second day - with no end in sight.
Drivers say they cannot afford to take pay cuts which the company says must be enforced in order to avoid imminent insolvency.
The unions involved say they're prepared for the long haul with pickets continuing at depots around the country.
Yesterday the action also caused disruption to train services in several locations nationwide including in Galway.
This was due to the refusal of Irish Rail workers to cross picket lines at depots where bus and rail services are housed together including at Ceannt Station in the city.
Irish Rail spokesperson Barry Kenny says all services are back to normal today.
