Galway Bay fm newsroom - The final day of racing at Ballybrit yesterday was marked by a slight drop in attendance and tote betting.
It reflects the general trend at this year's festival - with attendance figures and tote betting broadly down across the week.
While challenging weather conditions may not have helped matters yesterday, ten thousand people passed through the turnstiles for 'Mad Hatters Day' - a slight drop of almost 500 on the figure for 2018.
Attendance yesterday: 9,988.
Attendance 2018: 10,461
Overall, attendance was down across the week - with 3,260 less people passing through the turnstiles at Ballybrit this year when compared with 2018.

Tote betting was also down this year - standing at over €4m as of yesterday evening, a very considerable drop of over one million on the figure taken last year.
Tote betting 2019: €4.23m - a decrease of over €1m on figure for 2018.
However, it's been a good year for the bookmakers as the festival celebrated it's 150th birthday, with figures up considerably across the week.
Bookies turnover finished at €6.8m - an increase of €460, 479 thousand on the figure for last year.
