Galway property raided by Gardai as part of operation against child pornography

Galway Bay fm newsroom - An address in Galway has been raided by Gardai as part of a national operation targetting child pornography.

'Operation Ketch' saw searches carried out in Galway, Dublin, Cork, Waterford, Meath and Monaghan.

Operation Ketch commenced in February and aims to target persons suspected of possessing, importing and distributing child pornography.

As part of the latest series of raids nationwide, digital material has been seized at a number of locations for forensic examination - including one in Galway.

A childlike sex doll was also seized at an unspecified location.

There were no arrests during the operation and Gardai say follow up searches will be conducted in the coming days and arrests are expected.
