Galway Bay fm newsroom - Some Galway property owners are making over 100 thousand euro a year by renting out spare rooms or full properties on short term rental site, Airbnb.
In Galway City alone, almost 1,000 entire homes are available for rent on the bed and breakfast site.
Airbnb allows property owners to privately rent out rooms or an entire property by directly connecting with people seeking accommodation.
It's generally used by tourists and visitors, but according to the Irish Independent, people are now turning to the site as the housing crisis continues.
