Several Galway politicians have spoken out to condemn the ongoing dereliction of the former Corrib Great Southern Hotel site - after a serious fire broke out this morning.
It's the latest in a long-running string of incidents at the site over the past number of years.
The former hotel was added to the register of derelict sites in 2015, and concerns have frequently been raised about anti-social behavior and arson at the site.
This morning's blaze broke out shortly before 6am and required several units from Galway City Fire Service, as well as an additional unit from Athenry.
