Galway Minister says new leave entitlements should be in place by July

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway TD and Junior Minister is hopeful new proposed leave entitlements for those looking after sick children or relatives will be in place by the summer.

It's as a proposed new 'work-life-balance' law will come before cabinet tomorrow which would see workers given up to 5 days unpaid leave per year for family reasons.

Those with children under 12 or those caring for a relative would also have the right to request flexible or reduced working hours.

Speaking to Galway Talks, Galway East TD and Junior Minister Anne Rabbitte says it should be in place by July as part of a wider scheme for improved conditions.
