Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway minister is preparing to travel to China as part of the St Patrick's Day 'Promote Ireland' initiative.
OPW Minister and Galway East TD Sean Canney has met with Chinese Ambassador Yue Xiaoyoug ahead of the trip.
He'll be visiting major cities including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bejing and Nanjing to promote trade, tourism and investment opportunities.
A key element of the Promote Ireland initiative will be the 'greening' of a section of the Great Wall of China near Beijing.

The iconic structure will be lit up in green to mark St Patrick's Day.
Minister Canney says China is an extremely important market.
