Galway Bay fm newsroom - The average price of a home in Galway looks set to rise by almost 40 thousand euro over the next two years.
The average asking price for property across the county currently stands at 186 thousand euro.
It's expected that figure will rise to 205 thousand by the end of this year - and up to 220 thousand by the end of 2018.
The figures are based on a 10 percent rise in the lastest CSO figures for 2017, and an expected rise of 8 percent next year.
According to the Irish Independent, a report from Goodbody Stock-brokers says that while housing completions are to grow strongly, it will take several years before the estimated demand of 30 thousand units a year is met.
