Galway has second highest number of houses granted planning permission this year

Galway Bay FM newsroom - Galway has had the second most planning permission requests for houses granted in the country so far this year.

The city and county accounts for 11 percent of all houses granted permission since January

Galway city and county had 467 requests granted, just behind Cork on 498, throughout quarter one and quarter two

However, according to CSO figures, Galway city is lagging behind the county, with only 22 houses granted permission.

Nationally, a total of 4,177 houses were granted planning permission since the start of the year.
