Galway has above average gym membership prices, but is not among the most expensive in the country.
The Irish Independent survey found the average monthly membership in Galway is €54.80 - slightly below the peak price of €62 in Leitrim.
Rounding out the top five are Longford, Kildare, Roscommon and Monaghan.
The most expensive gym can be found in Galway, which charges €75 per month - but has not been named by the paper.
