Galway had lowest spend on libraries two years in a row

Galway county and city councils recorded the lowest spend on libraries for the past two years.

Both local authorities spent a combined total of €20 per capita in both 2021and 2020.

That is less than half of the highest spend, which was by Longford at €55.86 per capita.

The figures are from the National Oversight and Audit Commission report for 2021.
