Galway Bay FM newsroom - Galway county and city councils will receive €50m for road projects, with half of that going toward the Moycullen Bypass.
25 million euro is being given to its construction, with €1 million for Claregalway traffic calming and pavement restoration works.
While €3 million is being provided to enable Galway County Council prepare further studies in relation to the Galway Ring Road project.
Nationally this year, spending of half a billion Euro is being given to the ongoing progression of major routeways and local by-passes around some of the country’s best known market towns.
These include the N22 Ballyvourney to Macroom, the N8/N40 Dunkettle Interchange, the N5 Westport to Turlough, the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge and the N56 Dungloe to Glenties
Other ongoing projects is in Listowel County Kerry, while new bypasses are planned for Slane in County Meath and Foxford in County Mayo.
€63 million is also being allocated for 70 Greenway projects around the country.
