Galway Bay fm newsroom - The 31st Galway Film Fleadh concluded last night with the annual awards ceremony.

It featured Irish and international film premieres, screenings, workshops and discussions.

The Best International First Feature award has gone to 'The Best of Dorien B' directed by Anke Blonde.

Best International Documentary is 'Stage' directed by Abbie Ainsworth

Best International Film was named as 'A Bread Factory' directed by Patrick Wang.

The Best International Short Documentary is 'After the Silence' directed and produced by Sonam Larcin.

Best International Short Animation is 'Roadkill' directed and produced by Leszek Mozga.

The Best International Short Fiction award went to 'Brotherhood' directed by Joobeur Meryam

The Best Human Rights Film in association with Amnesty International went to 'For Sama' directed by Waad al-Kateab and Edward Watts.

The Don Quijote Award for Best Animated Short Film went to 'Featherweight' directed by Kayleigh Gibbons for its touching storytelling style and expressive animation dealing with the universal theme of grief.

Best Animated Sequence in a Short Film went to 'Abe's Story' directed by Adam H Stewart.

The Donal Gilligan Award for Best Cinematograhy in a Short Film went to 'Rip to the Rescue!' directed by Paudie Baggott

The Best Short Documentary Award went to 'Hydebank' directed by Ross McClean

The Best Short Drama award went to 'Bainne' directed by Jack Reynor while the Best First Short Animation Award went to 'Archie's Bat' directed and produced by Shannon Egan.

The James Horgan Award for Best Animation went to 'Streets of Fury' directed and produced by Aidan McAteer.

The Tiernan McBride Award for Best Short Drama went to 'Cynthia' directed by Jack Hickey.

Best Cinematography in an Irish Feature was awarded to 'Finky' whose Director of Photography Cathal Watters.

The Pitching Award in association with 101 Films went to 'What Would Rocky Do?', pitched by Roisin Jones.

Best Marketplace Project Award went to 'Watermelon Seeds and project owner, Kate Swan.

The Best Irish Documentary at Galway Film Fleadh was 'Breaking Out' directed by Michael McCormack.

Best Irish First Feature is 'A Bump Along the Way' directed by Shelly Love.

The Bingham Ray New Talent Award went to Lola Petticrew from 'A Bump Along the Way'.

The Galway Hooker Award for Outstanding Achievement went to James Schmaus, Ros Hubbard and Jon Hubbard.

The Best Irish Film has been named as 'Extra Ordinary' directed by Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman
