Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway Film Centre has rebranded to Ardán, as it builds a vision for the future of the creative sector in the West.
Ardán is the Irish translation for stage, and the initiative aims to provide a platform to grow the film, TV, games and animation industry in Galway and the wider region.
It will work to facilitate training, networking, and the development of creative career paths and businesses, to ensure content is brought to national and international audiences.
Across all sectors of the creative industries in the west, it's anticipated the economic value will be €84m in 2025 - compared to €56m in 2018.
It's also expected that over 1,700 will be employed directly by 2025 as a result, compared to 1,100 in 2018.
