Galway farmland prices increased by a quarter last year

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Farmland prices in Galway increased by 22 percent in 2022 - the third highest rise in the country.

The Irish Farmers Journal report shows that Irish farmland broke €12,000 per acre on average, the highest prices since the Celtic Tiger.

Over 40 percent of farmland sold last year was bought by business people.

The biggest increase in farmland prices in 2022 was in Mayo, with a rise of almost 80 percent.

Meanwhile on the other end of the scale, Clare saw the biggest decrease in prices at 23%.
