Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway East TD is to set up a taskforce to explore the rejuvenation of Athenry and greater investment in the area.
It follows a well-attended public meeting at the Raheen Woods Hotel in the town last evening.
It covered topics such as tourism, local businesses, parking, increasing the use of Athenry's heritage status, IDA investment and the road network.
The meeting was organised by Deputy Anne Rabbitte - who now plans to establish a taskforce with local businesses.
