Galway Bay fm newsroom - A charity supporting women impacted by domestic abuse, last year recorded its highest number of clients in its 24-year history.
Domestic Violence Response Galway also recorded its highest level of counselling support sessions in the period.
The organisation is publishing its 2021 annual report today at the launch of its new premises and expanded services at Commerce House in Moycullen.
A total of 266 service users availed of the services in 2021, with a significant increase in return service users in the latter part of the year.
51 nights of accommodation in total were provided for DVR service users in Galway city and county from late June 2020 to December last year
This was delivered via a scheme that saw Airbnb partnering with Safe Ireland and Women’s Aid to provide free hotel emergency accommodation.
