Galway Bay fm news - A city councillor and businessman says if Dublin was affected, the Bus Eireann strike would be long-solved.
Fianna Fáil Councillor Ollie Crowe says he's been contacted by numerous elderly residents across Galway who have been isolated by the action.
Many rural parts of the county are not served by Galway's private operators, and residents in those areas rely on Bus Eireann services.
Councillor Crowe says the strike, which is now in its 7th day, is having a serious impact, and an intervention by Minister Shane Ross is long overdue.
The strike doesn't affect Dublin, as it has its own bus network - Dublin Bus.
Councillor Crowe says if the capital was affected, the strike would have been solved long ago.
