Galway consumers warned over increasing fraud attempts as Ulster Bank and KBC exit market

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway consumers are being warned to be vigilant against increased fraud attempts due to Ulster Bank and KBC exiting the Irish market.

Hundreds of thousands of current account customers will move their accounts over the coming months.

Bank of Ireland says so far this year, it's opened double the number of personal current accounts compared to the same period last year.

It's warning that amid this unprecedented activity, fraudsters are trying to capitalise on the situation and target customers switching banks.

Speaking to Galway Talks, Paul O' Brien of Bank of Ireland Group Security has this advice.
