Galway company to offer novel wound dressing to chronic skin irritation sufferers through HSE

Galway Bay FM Newsroom – A Galway company is offering a first of its kind wound dressing to sufferers of an inflammatory skin disease through the public health service.

Hidradenitis Suppurativa or HS, is a chronic, skin disease with no cure that affects tens of thousands of people in Ireland and millions worldwide.

One of the main challenges for people with HS is daily wound care, with traditional dressings often falling off.

Galway firm HidraWear Solution’s HS specific design assures secure dressing retention in the difficult to dress areas affected such as the armpits.

Meanwhile, it's fluid-repellent backing prevents external contamination of the wound and provides comfort and security to patients.
