As expectations increase that the easing of Covid-19 restrictions will be recommended today, a Galway city venue owner says it's hard to be confident as businesses still cannot plan too far in advance.

NPHET meets this morning to assess how restrictions could be eased and when.

However a final decision on any plan will be made at Cabinet tomorrow, and an announcement is expected afterwards.

Gary Monroe of Monroe's Tavern on Dominick Street says while the easing of restrictions is welcome, the difficulties for the hospitality sector will continue.
