Galway children spend less time online than national average

Galway Bay fm newsroom -Galway children spend around 40% of their day online - slightly less than the national average.

New research published today by iKydz shows Galway children between the ages of 6 and 15 spend some 5 hours a day using the internet.

That's more than double the recommended daily time online, based on a study from the World Health Organisation.

Youtube is Irish childrens' favorite site, followed by Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Whatsapp.

Naoise Kennedy from Youth Mental Health service Reach Out says parents need to be conscious of their own internet use as well.
