Galway Bay fm newsroom - The CEO of Galway Chamber has said that the opponents of the Galway City Ring Road are "not connected with reality".
It follows the seeking of a judicial review of the decision to grant permission for the €600m project.
Friends of the Irish Environment argue the Ring Road isn't a magic solution and investment should be focused elsewhere in more sustainable transport options.
However, speaking to Galway Talks, Chamber CEO Kenny Deery says the Ring Road isn't a case of one or the other.
He argued that local Senator Pauline O' Reilly, who supports the judicial review, is not representing the facts in a fair manner.

Meanwhile Peter Butler of An Taisce argues the Ring Road is not a magic bullet and a plan B option should be developed.
