Galway-based Aerogen collaborating on delivery of world's first inhaled COVID-19 vaccine

Galway Bay fm newsroom - City-based firm Aerogen is collaborating on the delivery of the world's first inhaled COVID-19 vaccine.

It's announced a development and commercial supply partnership with CanSino Biologics, based in Tianjin, China.

It'll see the inhaled delivery of the Chinese firm's 'Convi-dee-cia' vaccine, using Aerogen's proprietary drug delivery technology.

The interim results of Phase 3 clinical trials demonstrated the vaccine as having an efficacy of 95 percent at preventing severe disease 14 days after single-dose vaccination.
