Galway Bay fm newsroom - Uptake of the MMR vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella in infants in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon was 95 per cent for the first three months of the year.
Data from the HSE, which is due to be distributed to Community Health Organisation areas across the country this week, shows that the lowest uptake of the vaccine between January and March was in the east of the country.
According to today's Irish Times, the western region of Galway, Mayo and Roscommon had the highest uptake of the MMR vaccine in the country.
However nationally the rate of immunisation has fallen to 91 per cent annually, down from 93 per cent in previous years.
