Galway Bay fm newsroom - Gardai have introduced further traffic restrictions in Ballybrit/Briarhill/Parkmore as part of their technical examination of the crash scene where a young motorcyclist lost his life last night

The single vehicle incident took place at 7:30 last night at the busy intersection leading from Bóthar na dTreabh.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash site remains closed for a technical examination by forensic collision investigators and some adjacent areas are also now being closed by Gardai

The junction at Ballybane Road outbound to Briarhill is now closed and all outbound traffic will be diverted

The workers at Boston Scientific and nearby factories are being advised that for the next 90 minutes at least the exit ramp will be closed and exit will be via the Ballybane road junction

There will also be limited access and exit at Parkmore and all departing workers will be diverted towards Carnmore Cross

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward to Galway Garda Station on 091 538000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
