The funding situation at cash-strapped Galway County Council is as "clear as mud".

That's according to Senator Sean Kyne, who has once again raised the issue of a long-running funding shortfall at the local authority.
He says Government has given committments that the situation will be reviewed, but there's been little clarity since.

Political reps from across Galway have been unified in demanding increased funding, pointing out that Galway has one of the lowest per capita spends in the country.
Senator Kyne says it's not sustainable and a plan is needed.
