Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 65 thousand euro has been announced for two East Galway Flood relief projects.
27 thousand euro has been awarded for works in Kylebrack, Loughrea to cover the replacement of an existing piped section of an open drain.
While almost 40 thousand euro has been granted towards the installation of 270 metres of drainage sewer in Ahascragh, along with the cleaning of existing drains and manhole gratings.
Roscommon Galway TD Denis Naughten says the Ballinasloe funding will be vital for clearing a serious road safety hazard that regularly occurs during flooding at Quigley's Garage outside of Ahascragh.
Meanwhile, Minister of State and Galway East TD, Sean Canney says the funding and commitment to the works will bring a sense of relief to the affected communities.
