Full capacity protocol at UHG as 30 await admission

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Full Capacity Protocol has been implemented at UHG this morning as 30 patients await admission to the emergency department.

Efforts are being made to identify patients who are appropriate for discharge in a bid to deal with increasing demands.

In a statement to Galway Bay fm news, the public is advised to expect significant delays.

Patients are being advised only to attend the A&E in the case of real emergencies and to consider their GP or GP Out-of-Hours service in the first instance.
