Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway West TD says he’s deeply disappointed that the tender process for the construction of the N59 Moycullen by-pass has been put on hold.
Fianna Fáil Deputy Eamon Ó Cuív says the tender process has been held up because of a lack of funding.
Two million euro was provided to Galway County Council this year to continue the land acquisition process for the planned works.
Deputy O'Cuiv says meetings with the Transport Minister have not proven fruitful.
Meanwhile, Transport Infrastructure Ireland has confirmed that ground investigation works on the N59 Galway to Clifden road between Bunakill and Maam Cross should be completed by the end of the year.
Deputy O'Cuiv says this will allow the project to proceed to the next stage, which is detailed design, early next year.
