Galway Bay fm newsroom - A network of free Wi-Fi hotspots have been rolled out in public spaces across the city.
The new points serve communities from Doughiska to Ballinfoyle, to the city centre, and onwards to Salthill and Knocknacarra.
The network is provided under the WiFi 4 EU initiative, which promotes free access to Wi-Fi in public spaces in towns and cities across Europe.
Previously, there had been several hotspots available at locations in the city centre under the programme.
Mayor of Galway Colette Connolly says the expansion is excellent news - and could be the start of an even bigger rollout in the near future.
