Galway Bay fm newsroom - Gardai are conducting a forensic investigation in Gort this morning after a pedestrian was knocked down in the town last evening.
The man was rushed to UHG where he remains in a serious condition this morning.
The incident happened at around 7 last night at the Square in Gort, where a man in his 50's was knocked down by a passing vehicle.
The man, who's understood to be from the area, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to University Hospital Galway where he remains in a serious condition.

Gardai waited until first light this morning to conduct a forensic investigation of the scene.
The examination is now underway and is expected to conclude shortly.
