Flag raising ceremony marks opening of Galway Pride festival

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway Pride Festival has officially been launched this afternoon with a flag raising ceremony.

The ceremony took place at Eyre Square at lunchtime.

The event will mark its 30th anniversary this year and is one of the longest running consecutive pride festivals in the country.

Highlights include the Pride march which takes place on Saturday (17th).

This years Galway Pride is also the first bilingual Pride with the Irish language heavily incorporated into all events.
